Summary
The Product Owner will work with the Product Manager to understand the strategic direction and
the features defined for the product, breakdown the features into stories, define the iterations, and
work with the Agile Team to deliver those features based on the priorities set by the Product
Manager.
Responsibilities
- Understand the objectives set by the executive team and the features defined by the Product Manager
- Maintain the feature backlog based on the priorities set by the Product Manager
- Breakdown each feature into user stories and capture all the information necessary in order for the Agile Team with members working across different time zones to efficiently breakdown each user story into tasks and accomplish each task to deliver the feature
- Explain to the Agile Team what needs to be done and why it needs to be done
- Work with the Agile Team to determine the increments necessary to deliver a set of features prioritized by the Product Manager for each Program Increment
- Work with the Agile Team to plan each Sprint
- Create the necessary feedback loop with internal customers such as Operations and Client Success, and update the feature backlog accordingly.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have a degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics,
Engineering, Management Science) - Have 5 years of professional experience as a product owner working as part of an Agile Team
- Ask the right questions with the purpose of gathering all relevant information
- Analyze the information that is gathered with the purpose of making the best decision based
on the information available - Work with cross-functional multi-location teams
- Communicate effectively (oral and written)

- PSPO: Professional Scrum Product Owner certificate
- CSPO: Certified Scrum Product Owner certificate
- POPM: Product Owner/ Product Manager certificate.
